Payroll Supervisor

Loraas is looking for a Payroll Supervisor to contribute to the team by bringing excellent customer service to our internal customers. Maintaining a positive attitude, strong work ethic and flexibility is a must, while interacting with colleagues to provide and process information in response to inquiries, concerns and requests. Reporting to the Controller, the Payroll Supervisor will be responsible for payroll, employee benefit and insurance plans, pension administration, source deduction remittances, and taxable benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision and support to payroll clerk(s) to ensure payroll is processed timely and accurately
  • Ensure payroll is administered in accordance with all contractual and statutory requirements so employees are paid appropriately and appropriate deductions are made
  • Ensure adequate internal financial controls exist and are followed in the areas of responsibility
  • Complies with all contractual and legislated payroll mandates are issued by the prescribed deadline including but not restricted to: all payroll deduction remittances, T4 returns and summaries, WCB Employer Payroll Annual Statement, and Records of Employment
  • Prepare working papers for the year end as required
  • Monitoring workload and evaluate direct reports
  • Provide guidance to and share knowledge with colleagues/team members relating to own specialization
  • Implement control quality measures
  • Empower others and effectively solve problems
  • Identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes
  • Address payroll related queries and requests from employees
  • Coordinate with HR to carry out payroll processing

Requirements

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification
  • Minimum 7 years experience of payroll experience, preferably in an operations environment
  • Solid understanding of the Saskatchewan Employment Act
  • Experience in a supervisory role considered an asset

  • Sorting and baling of various recyclable materials
  • General housekeeping duties related to the warehouse
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and policies according to company Safety Manual and OH&S Regulations
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks and report any issues or items of concern found
  • Operation of both forklift and loader in warehouse environment
  • Hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 6:00pm

Waste/Recycle Haul Operator

November 20, 2017

Duties: 

  • Training for and operation of Roll-Off waste and recycling collection equipment as a Full Time Pre-Core Operator; training on equipment is provided
  • Coordination with fellow operators and employees within other departments to ensure maximum efficiency in daily operations.
  • Container maintenance, equipment maintenance, buildings and facilities work, and other duties as requested, when additional drivers aren’t required.
  • Adherence to company, and customer, site safety policies and procedures.
  • This position will become available January 29th, 2018 due to anticipated organizational growth.

Qualifications:

  • Class 3A license required (1A preferred) with clear abstract (submit with resume)
  • Strong knowledge of Saskatoon and surrounding area
  • Minimum 3 years solid driving experience- short haul/ city experience preferred
  • Hydraulic equipment experience, and/or farm background an asset
  • Dispatch experience considered an asset
  • Able to work both in a team environment and unsupervised
  • Excellent logistical and organizational skills
  • Good communication skills

Parts Runner (Entry Level)

  • Operation of the parts vehicle to pick up orders from vendors and perform internal deliveries
  • Helping with day-to-day operations of the parts department, including document control, and inventory assistance
