Temporary Parts/Scale Operator

June 15, 2018

 

Loraas Landfill is seeking an individual to oversee the daily operation of parts and supply. This position will run from July 1, 2018 until September 30, 2018. Hours of work will be Mondays 10:30-7, Tuesdays-Fridays 8-4:30.

Duties

  • Responsible for daily functions of parts operation, including procuring, ordering, backorders, core processing, and internal billing
  • Overseeing inventory control
  • Coordinating pick-up and delivery of material with external customers
  • Assist with scale operation and general paperwork
  • Ensuring a high level of quality service to internal and external customers

Qualifications

  • Computer literacy required; familiarity with inventory software specific to mechanical shop supplies considered an asset
  • Background in customer service is an asset
  • Strong logistical and organizational skills
  • Detail Oriented
  • Strong communication ability
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Able to work independently or on a team
  • A criminal record check will be required

Class 3A/1A Driver

Duties: 

  • Training for and operation of Front-End, Roll-Off, or Side-Load waste and recycling collection equipment as a Full Time Operator; training on equipment is provided.
  • Coordination with fellow operators and employees within other departments to ensure maximum efficiency in daily operations.
  • Delivery of exceptional customer service to co-workers and customers in accordance with company expectations.
  • Container maintenance, equipment maintenance, buildings and facilities work, and other duties as requested, when additional drivers aren’t required.
  • Adherence to company, and customer, site safety policies and procedures.
  • Shifts will be Tuesday to Saturday with full time hours.

Qualifications:

  • Class 3A license required (1A preferred) with clear abstract (submit with resume)
  • Strong knowledge of Saskatoon and surrounding area
  • Minimum 3 years commercial driving experience- short haul/ city experience preferred
  • Hydraulic equipment experience, and/or farm background an asset
  • Dispatch experience considered an asset
  • Able to work both in a team environment and unsupervised
  • Excellent logistical and organizational skills
  • Good communication skills

Seasonal Labourer – Fencing

Loraas Disposal Services is seeking individuals to join its fencing crew. This position will run from April 1, 2018 until October 26, 2018. Hours of work will be Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm with potential for overtime.

Duties: 

  • Delivering fencing and/or recycle carts to customers in Saskatoon and surrounding area.
  • Between deliveries, assisting with cart pickup and returns.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and policies according to company Safety Manual and OH&S Regulations.
  • Completing general duties around shop and yard, including sandblasting and painting steel containers, cart assembly, and shop maintenance.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be in good physical condition
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience operating equipment is considered an asset
  • Minimum valid Class 5 driver’s license with acceptable abstract required.
  • Air Brake Endorsement considered an asset
