Payroll Clerk

Loraas is currently looking for a Payroll Clerk responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, data management, and keeping employee payroll information up to date. The Payroll Clerk is a member of the Admin team, provides support to other roles within the company and performs other duties as necessary.

Job Duties

  • Ensure accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll for hourly staff
  • Review timesheets for completeness and accuracy
  • Maintain and track vacation and sick accruals
  • Create internal weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and annual reports
  • Process paperwork for new hires and terminations
  • Maintain employee files, process employee status changes, calculate final pay, and issue Records of Employment
  • Process paperwork for new enrollments into the Blue Cross and pension benefit plans
  • Ensure that the correct insurance premiums are deducted on a bi-weekly basis and reconciled on a monthly basis
  • Stay current with payroll legislation, employment standards and work methods

  • Responsible for territory development, management and retention

Class 3A/1A Driver (Roll Off Truck) – Tuesday to Saturday

  • Training for and driving of tandem axle Roll Off trucks as a full-time driver
  • Communicate with fellow employees in person and via two-way radio to plan calls, problem solve, and meet customer needs
  • Container and equipment cleaning and repairs, buildings and facilities work, and other duties as assigned when not operating truck
  • Adherence to company, and customer, site safety policies and procedures
  • Hours of work starting as early as 4:00 am and operating up to a maximum of 13 hours per day

Physical Aspects:

  • Climbing in and out of truck multiple times throughout day
  • Operation of equipment on various road surfaces (paved, gravel, dirt, etc.)
  • Shoveling interior of containers to ensure frozen or compact material is emptied
  • Utilizing hand tarps and straps to ensure load security regulations are met
  • Exposure to dust, mud, smells, rodents, birds, heat and cold at various points throughout day/year

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Class 3A license required with clear abstract
  • Strong knowledge of Saskatoon and surrounding area
  • Minimum 3 years solid driving experience- short haul/city experience preferred

  • Container maintenance, equipment maintenance, buildings and facilities work, and other duties as assigned
  • Following all company, and customer, site safety policies and procedures
  • Hours of work starting as early as 4:00 am and operating up to a maximum of 13 hours per day

  • Opening/closing compound gates for container access
