Seasonal Labourer (Landfill)

  • Responsible for keeping building clean and tidy

Landfill/Organics Equipment Operator

The Loraas Landfill, located just outside Martensville, is seeking a permanent full-time equipment operator to join its team in either Organics, Construction, or Landfill Operations. Equipment to be operated includes compactors, loaders, excavators, dozers, rock trucks, graders, shredders and grinders, and more.

Duties:

  • Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and policies according to company Safety Manual and OH&S Regulations.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks and report any issues or items of concern found.
  • Clean heavy equipment as scheduled or required.
  • Directing traffic in and around the material delivery areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience operating equipment
  • Certificate(s) in Heavy Equipment Operation an asset
  • General mechanical aptitude/experience in basic daily maintenance of heavy equipment required
  • Safety conscious, able to work safely in sometimes challenging conditions

Digital Media Specialist

Loraas is currently looking for a creative individual to fill the role of Digital Media Specialist. The Digital Media Specialist, under the direction of the Communications Manager, will primarily be responsible for managing Loraas’ online presence, marketing material needs, and assisting the Communications Department in public interactions and promoting the company within the community on all aspects of the organization.

Duties:

  • Responsible for internal and external online presence, including content generation and communications
  • Gather, research, and prepare communications material for internal and external audiences
  • Develop and implement communication and promotion strategies for both internal and external audiences
  • Develop strategies to maintain or build upon the organization’s positive public image
  • Aid in promoting brand initiatives consistent with corporate business goals and objectives
  • Assist the Environmental Communications Specialist in the Loraas Recycle Education Center with programming as needed

  • Coordination with fellow operators and employees within other departments to ensure maximum efficiency in daily operations.
  • Container maintenance, equipment maintenance, buildings and facilities work, and other duties as requested, when additional drivers aren’t required.
  • Adherence to company, and customer, site safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Class 3A license required (1A preferred) with clear abstract (submit with resume)
  • Strong knowledge of Saskatoon and surrounding area
  • Minimum 3 years solid driving experience- short haul/ city experience preferred
  • Hydraulic equipment experience, and/or farm background an asset
  • Dispatch experience considered an asset
  • Able to work both in a team environment and unsupervised
  • Excellent logistical and organizational skills
  • Good communication skills
